The United States Air Force Academy (United States Air Force Academy; abbreviation: USAFA), a liberal arts college specializing in the training of junior command officers for the United States Air Force, was signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on April 1, 1954, to establish the United States Air Force Academy. It is ranked 27th in the 2015 U.S. News list of U.S. liberal arts colleges.
