American University (American University) is a private university in the United States, founded in 1893, located in Washington, DC, near the White House. The university has seven colleges, including the College of Business, the College of Education, and the College of Arts and Sciences. It was ranked 75th in the 2014 USNEWS National Composite University Rankings, alongside Baylor University, Clark University, University of Indiana at Birmington, Marquette University, University of Miami (Oxford), and University of Delaware.
