Founded in 1883 and located in Austin, TX, the capital of the state of Texas, the University of Texas System has the largest number of students (more than 50,000) , and the strongest overall university. It is ranked 52nd in the 2014 USNEWS National Composite University Rankings, alongside George Washington University, Ohio State University, Tulane University, and the University of Washington.
