Wake Forest University

Wake Forest's athletic teams, the Demon Deacons, are members of the NCAA Division I Atlantic Coast Conference.When Wake Forest played and won against rival Duke University in 1922 , a local reporter called the Wake players "Demon Deacons" and the mascot was born. Students must live in student housing on campus for six semesters. Greek organizations play an important role at Wake Forest University, where their members make up almost half of the student body.

Notable alumni include Muggsy Bogues, the shortest NBA player ever, legendary golfer Arnold Palmer, and journalist and talk show host Al Hunt.
