The University of Bayreuth, known in German as UniversitaumltBayreuth, was founded in 1972 as a state university in Bavaria with a student body of 7430. The university is unique in its scientific, cultural and technological know-how, the most important factor being the high quality of its graduates. Every year, 1,000 students graduate with a Master of Science degree, a Master of Arts degree or a state examination certificate. In addition, 150 doctoral students graduate every year. The University has established cooperation with 40 universities worldwide at the university and faculty levels, and has carried out 34 cooperation projects in the Santander Group of the European Union. The University focuses its research and teaching on the following five disciplines: Mathematics and Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Law and Economics, and Languages and Literature.
