TOEFL (The Test of English as a Foreign Language) is an important criterion for admission and scholarship application to prestigious universities and graduate schools all over the world. It is divided into three types of tests, namely, pbt (paper-based test; 120 points), cbt (machine-based test; 300 points), and ibt (internet-based test; 120 points). The test is valid for two years (from the date of the test) and is sponsored by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) of the U.S. In September 2005, the ETS launched the new TOEFL test, TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test), which consists of four parts-reading, listening, reading, and writing.
