The University of Zaragoza seeks to be a quality university in the service of the advancement of the Region of Aragon and wants to be a model for national and international universities by virtue of its prestige in teaching and research and the quality of the services it provides. The main characteristics of this Aragonese public university can be summarized in this passage. The University was founded in the sixteenth century, but its predecessor was actually several centuries earlier. Its five campuses (in Haca, Uuesca, La Almunia, de Donna Gordina, Zaragoza and Teruel) and its infrastructure have made it one of the most important universities in Spain, one that is closely linked to cooperation (the promotion of solidarity actions and social responsibility) and that participates actively in various national and international organizations and associations. The University has the most complete range of specializations in Spain, covering official degrees and the University's own various degrees, postgraduate programs and continuous training courses. This gives it a prominent position among higher education institutions. The introduction of the latest technology in teaching is already a fact, and this is reflected in some of the virtual specializations and training courses offered by the University.
