The University of Hannover (Universitat Hannover), known as Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universitat Hannover, is located in Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony, Germany. It was founded in 1831 and is part of the TU9 (the nine technical universities in Germany with the longest history, the highest reputation and the highest level of teaching and research), which is a famous public university in Germany. It is a famous public university in Germany, with more than 32,000 students, 2,700 overseas students and 3,500 teachers, including more than 2,000 researchers, and has been the largest university in Lower Saxony in terms of the number of students since 1990. On July 1, 2006, on the occasion of the 360th anniversary of the birth of the great mathematician and philosopher Leibniz, the university was renamed Leibniz University of Hannover on the occasion of its 175th anniversary. Leibniz University Hannover has an international teaching and research environment and is currently one of the most modern and forward-looking universities in Germany.
