Tokyo University of Foreign Studies

Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) was founded in 1897 and opened in 1949 as a national university. TUFS consists of the Faculty of Foreign Studies and the Graduate School of Regional Culture Studies. TUFS is one of the oldest universities in Japan, having its origins in 1857 as the Clan's Shukusho, and later became the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Tokyo before becoming independent again.
