Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt University is a top college in the American South, located in Nashville, Tennessee. The school was founded in 1873 with an investment from billionaire Cornelius Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt was one of the richest men in America at the time and was the prototype for the computer game Railroad Tycoon, after whom Vanderbilt University is named, hence the school's translation as Vanderbilt University. Vanderbilt is a leader among U.S. universities in business, law, and medicine. Vanderbilt University is ranked 17th in the 2024 USNEWS Comprehensive Ranking of American Universities.
