Far Eastern State University (Russian: Дальневосточный Федеральный университет) is an institution of higher education in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, Russia. Far Eastern State University is one of the oldest universities, it was founded in 1899 by Nicholas II as the Oriental Institute and was the first institution of higher learning in the Russian Far East. It is the largest university in the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia. FESU is the main platform for the development of cooperation in the field of education and science between the Russian Far East and China. Far Eastern State University offers a wide range of options for foreign students to study for bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as associate and doctoral degrees in the fields of natural sciences, humanities and socio-political sciences. The Far Eastern State University has become one of the oldest and largest schools in eastern Russia for teaching Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other languages of the Asia-Pacific countries.
