The University of Venice, also known as the University of the Orient in Venice, was founded in 1868 by Edward Deodati, Acting Governor of the Province of Venice, and a number of colleagues, and marked the initial birth of the University of Venice as a business school. The Faculty is located in Venice, a unique water city in the world. The University of Venice has a long tradition in business and economics. The University has a Faculty of Economics, a Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature, a Faculty of Literature and Philosophy, a Faculty of Science, and common teaching and research centers among the faculties.
