The Wiener Zeitung (Vienna Daily News), the world's patriarchal newspaper and the most popular newspaper in Austria and in Europe as a whole, was founded in 1703 and is now the official media outlet for the Austrian government's news releases.On January 7, 2014, China's Ambassador to Austria, Zhao Bin, published an op-ed in the newspaper titled, "Japan Must Profoundly Reflect on Its War of Aggression," condemning the Japanese Prime Minister Abe's visit to the Yasukuni Shrine.
