O Estadode São Paulo is a Portuguese-language daily newspaper published in São Paulo, founded in 1875 by the Mesquita family, formerly known as O Estadode São Paulo (São Paulo Province newspaper), and renamed after the establishment of the Brazilian Republic in 1889. Folha de São Paulo is a serious newspaper, known as the "gray giant of the Brazilian press", with between 28 and 48 pages on weekdays and more than 150 pages on Sundays. The newspaper has its own news agency and sends articles to the whole country, which makes it very influential in Brazil.
