University of Twente (UT; Universiteit Twente; University of Twente) The top polytechnic university in the Netherlands, which, together with Delft Polytechnic and Eindhoven Polytechnic, constitutes the top polytechnic university consortium in the Netherlands 3TU, was founded jointly by the Dutch government and the Ministry of Industry in 1961, and is located in Enschede, close to the German border.
