The Portuguese news agency Agencia Lusa (Agencia Lusa) was founded on November 28, 1986, and is the national news agency of Portugal, formed in 1987 by the merger of Agencia Lusa and Agencia Prensa Portuguesa. The news agency has three radio stations (Radio, Radio Renaissance (religious background), and Commercial Radio) and three television stations (Televisão Nacional Portuguesa, Televisão SIC (private), and Televisão Independência).
