Founded in 1064, the University of Parma is one of the oldest universities in Italy. The university has always provided students with high quality teaching hardware and software. The University now has a staff of nearly 2,000 and more than 30,000 students. The university has a library with a wide range of books, newspapers and magazines. The University of Parma is located in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy. The region is the most developed industrial and agricultural region in northern Italy, with the agricultural economy ranking first in Italy and the industrial economy ranking fourth in the country. Emilia-Romagna is located in the middle of the region between northern and central Italy, where the continental part of Italy meets the peninsular part of the country, and is therefore a real geographical hub from the point of view of transportation.
