The Rostov State University of Transportation was founded in 1929 as the Rostov Institute of Transportation Engineering and Mechanics with three departments: Railway Transportation, Waterway Transportation, and Highway Engineering. After 80 years of development, the university is now a large educational and scientific institution with seven departments, four branches, and more than 42 departments and research institutes.
