The University of Leeds (ULE) is one of the largest universities in the UK, with a history dating back to 1831 and gaining university status in 1887. The University of Leeds is one of the most popular universities in the UK, with the highest number of applicants in the UK. The University of Leeds is a member of the Russell Group of Universities and is part of the White Rose Consortium of Universities, along with the University of York and the University of Sheffield. The University of Leeds was ranked 29th in the Times UK University Rankings 2014.
