Ramkhamhaeng University is a national university in Thailand, established in 1971, with an enrollment of approximately 59,961 students (2004). The campus covers a large area and has several branches. LKU is now the largest university in Southeast Asia. The university is also known for its excellent faculty and liberal academic style. The establishment of Rangkang University came from the Thai government's belief that education should be popularized, so that education in Thailand is not just a monopoly of the rich and powerful, but also so that the best students from the common people's families can enjoy high-quality university courses at a lower tuition fee, and learn knowledge.
