Established in 1966, The Daily Economy is Korea's most widely circulated economic newspaper with a circulation of approximately one million and is a must-read for Korean businesspeople. The Mainichi accurately predicted the economic and financial disaster and advised the Korean government on how to deal with the terrible financial crisis. Due to the accurate and timely forecasts and advice of the Mainichi, Korea's decision-making advice was copied almost exactly after the financial crisis, and the newspaper was later hailed as a lifesaver for Korea.
