Deutsche Welle is Germany's international public media, funded by the federal government. It began broadcasting in 1953 and is headquartered in Bonn and Berlin. Deutsche Welle produces radio, television and Internet information services worldwide, providing current news and background reports on Germany, the European Union and the world in 30 languages.
