Eindhoven University of Technology (abbreviated as TU/e, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven in Dutch), formerly known as Technische Hogeschool Eindhoven, was founded on June 15, 1956 by the Dutch government. The university is the second largest of the Dutch polytechnics, after Delft University of Technology. Its main research areas are energy (especially clean energy), life sciences (pharmaceuticals and medical devices) and smart mobility (advanced electric vehicles, intelligent transportation, etc.).
