British Broadcasting Corporation BBC

The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), the largest public media outlet in the United Kingdom, was founded on January 1, 1927, and includes the businesses of book and newspaper publishing, English language teaching, and Internet journalism. It is funded by the government but operates independently. For a considerable part of its history, the BBC had a monopoly on television and radio in the United Kingdom and was recognized as one of the most respected media outlets in the world.
