La Repubblica is one of the most widely circulated national dailies in Italy, second only to Corriere della Sera, which has the largest circulation. La Repubblica was founded in 1976 and is based in Rome. La Repubblica regularly publishes rankings of Italian universities, both in terms of specialization and in terms of overall ranking.
