Södertörn University is located in a vibrant development area south of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The university was founded in 1996 and since then has maintained a high level of teaching and research based on innovative ideas. Currently, the university has 12,000 students and 750 employees. The University of Södertörn has three faculties, each responsible for the quality of its educational subjects. These are: the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Technology, the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Research. Södertörn University offers more than 70 specializations in the fields of humanities, social sciences, life sciences and education. In addition, there are more than 400 courses of study available for students to choose individually. Södertörn University has the right to grant Bachelor's and Master's degrees, and it is expected to be upgraded to a university in the near future. Södertörn University offers English-taught postgraduate programs for students on international non-exchange agreements: Biomedical Genomics, Economics, Environmental Science, Communication and Decision Making, Infectious Disease Control, Interactive Media Design, Media Studies, Communication and Cultural Analysis, Molecular Ecology, Political Science, Tourism, and more.
