Members of the House of Representatives are elected for a term of four years, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives is the leader and organizer of the House of Representatives. The current Speaker of the House of Representatives is Fumiaki Ibuki. The House of Representatives is considered to be more influential than the House of Councillors due to its system of being dissolved in the middle of the day, which is considered to be a more faithful reflection of public opinion.
