Russia's Channel One (Russian: Первый Канал; abbreviation: C1R, 1TV) is Russia's most influential and largest television media outlet, which began broadcasting on May 22, 1951, and was formerly the Soviet Central Television (CCTV), headquartered near Moscow's Ostankino television tower. Channel 1 has a ratings of 98.81 TP3T and its main shareholder is the Russian government.
