European Free Trade Association

European Free Trade Association (EFTA; abbreviation: EFTA) is a European trade promotion organization, originating from the Convention on the Establishment of a European Free Trade Association (i.e. Stockholm Convention) signed by Austria, Denmark, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom in Stockholm on January 4, 1960, and formally established on May 3, 1960, with its headquarters in Geneva.
