University of Oxford

The University of Oxford (Oxon) is a public university in the United Kingdom, located in Oxford, England, a member of the Russell Group of Universities, and is renowned worldwide. Founded in 1167, it was the first university in the English-speaking world and has a high academic standing. It was ranked second only to the University of Cambridge in the RAE UK University Rankings released in 2008.
