The Associated Press (AP, The Associated Press) is the largest news agency in the United States and one of the three largest in the world (along with Reuters and Agence France-Presse). The Associated Press is one of the largest independent news agencies in the world, and its news articles are used by many news organizations around the world. Since its founding in 1846, AP has witnessed every major news event in the world. Since the inception of the Pulitzer Prize (1917), the AP has won the award 51 times.
