Voice of America (VOA) is the U.S. national propaganda organization, which owns radio and television stations and ranks second among the world's top five broadcasters (the remaining four are the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Radio France Internationale (RFI), Deutsche Welle (DW), and Radio Nederlandse Internationale (RDN)). Formed in February 1942 by the wartime Intelligence Bureau and headquartered in Washington, D.C., the Voice of America provides news and current events, English language instruction, special features, popular music, and other content.
