Kyushu University is a national comprehensive research university in Japan with a history dating back to 1867 when it was founded as the Fukuoka Clan School of Medicine "Zanshokan", and now has several campuses, mainly in Fukuoka City. Kyushu University has a number of faculties, including the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Arts and Engineering.
