Located in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, five miles from the Pacific Ocean, UCLA houses the College of Letters and Sciences and several graduate schools and programs, including the highly ranked Anderson School of Management, the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the School of Law and the David Geffen School of Medicine. UCLA is also home to the prestigious School of Theater, Film and Television and the School of Dentistry. The Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center is one of the top-ranked hospitals in the nation.
UCLA's Southern California campus spans more than 400 acres near the coast. A busy sidewalk called Bruin Boulevard connects student housing to the heart of the campus. UCLA offers students a three-year housing guarantee. There are more than 1,000 student organizations, including media groups and more than 65 Greek chapters, representing approximately 13% of the student body.
UCLA has men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, track and field, volleyball and water polo teams. Male athletes also compete in baseball and football, and female athletes can participate in beach volleyball, gymnastics, rowing, softball, and the swimming and diving teams. The UCLA Bruins compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Pac-12 Conference and are known for their water polo team.
