The French Presidential Palace (Elysée - Présidence de la République) is the official residence of the President of France, which is used for the office of the President and for the reception of important foreign guests, and is located in the eighth arrondissement of Paris, in the Elysée Palace (French: Palais de l' Élysée; also translated: Élysée Palace). The President of France is the Head of State and Commander of the Armed Forces of France, who exercises executive power and is directly elected by all eligible French voters for a term of five years (seven years until 2002), with the possibility of being re-elected once.
