The United States Federal Reserve System (The Federal Reserve System; Federal Reserve; referred to as: the Federal Reserve) that is the central bank of the United States, by the United States Congress to give the right to set up in 1913, headquartered in Washington, D.C., the Central Management Board, in addition to the United States in the main cities there are 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks. The Federal Reserve is composed of the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Reserve Banks and the Federal Open Market Committee, etc. Its main duties are: to formulate monetary policy; to supervise the banks and protect the rights of consumers to credit; to maintain financial stability; and to provide reliable financial services to the government, the public, the financial institutions, and foreign institutions. Ben Bernanke is the current top governor of the Federal Reserve.
