RIA Novosti - TASS is the official news agency of Russia and one of the five largest news agencies in the world, formerly known as TASS in the Soviet Union and RIA Novosti, which was founded in January 1992 and changed its name in 1992 to its current one. It publishes externally in eight languages, providing news or economic information. With 8 regional centers and 34 branches in Russia and 75 representative offices around the world, ITAR-TASS has established information cooperation with more than 70 news agencies around the world, including Reuters, Associated Press, Kyodo News Agency and Xinhua News Agency.
