The Belfast Telegraph, a leading British newspaper founded in 1870 and owned by Independent News & Media, specializes in entertainment and sports news, and shares some of its op-eds with The Independent and The Irish Independent in the U.K. In 2012, the newspaper won the Institute of Editors' award for the best regional newspaper in Britain.
