Space Battleship Yamato (宇宙戦艦ヤマト) is the masterpiece of renowned manga artist Zero Shi Matsumoto and one of the three masterpieces of Japanese animation, the other two being Mobile Suit Gundam and Neon Genesis Evangelion, which premiered on October 6, 1974, on Japanese television.
