Johannesburg Stock Exchange

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Africa's largest securities market in terms of equity capitalization, was founded on November 8, 1887, following the discovery of the Witwatersrand Gold Belt in 1886.The JSE's market capitalization accounts for 75% of the total market capitalization of all listed companies in Africa, but despite this, the JSE is only a mid-sized market among global financial markets. JSE is only a mid-sized market in the global financial markets.
