The British Labour Party (Labour Party) is a left-wing bourgeois political party in the United Kingdom and one of the two main political parties in the United Kingdom (the remaining one being the Conservative Party). It was founded on February 27, 1900, and was initially known as the Labor Representation Committee (LRC); in 1906, its name was changed to the Labour Party. The Labour Party is a coalition of trade unions, cooperative organizations and socialist groups, and has been in power since 1997.
