STMicroelectronics (STM) is one of the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers, with a history dating back to 1957 (SGS in Italy), STMicroelectronics was formed by the ongoing reorganization of SGS and the semiconductor division of Thomson France and a number of other semiconductor companies, and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Its products include CMOS image sensors, specialized products for automobiles, flash memory, microcontrollers, smart cards and others.
