National Library of Singapore

The National Library Board Singapore (NLB), the oldest library in Singapore, was founded by Raffles Stanford in 1823; in 1957, under the enactment of the Raffles National Library Act, it became a free national library-cum-public library; on November 1960, the National Library Building was officially opened. Public Library; on November 12, 1960, the National Library Building was officially opened.
