Sharp Corporation (シャープ Co., Ltd.) is a major Japanese electrical and electronics company founded in 1912 and headquartered in Osaka, formerly known as Hayakawa Electric Industries, which started out as an automated pencil manufacturer.In 2012, Sharp was ranked 354th on the Fortune 500 list.
