Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is a Japanese aerospace research and development organization, which was formed in 2003 by three aerospace-related agencies, with its headquarters in Tokyo under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and its main launching center being Tanegashima Space Center.
