United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which receives some of its functions from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), a division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), in order to promote the national security of the United States and to deal with the backlog of immigration cases.
