The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), the institutional support organization for insurance standard-setting, was created in 1871 and is founded and administered by insurance adjusters from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories. Most of the Association's offices are located in Kansas, Missouri, New York, and Washington.
