The RAND Corporation is one of the world's most influential think tank organizations.In May 1948, the RAND Corporation broke away from Douglas Corporation to become an independent think tank. The company aims to promote the future public welfare of the United States through charity, education, and science and technology, improve social security, is a non-profit organization. At the time of its founding, RAND provided intelligence and analysis services primarily to the U.S. military, and has since evolved into an organization that provides intelligence and research services to other governments or groups.
