Curel is a skincare brand designed for dry and sensitive skin and is part of the Kao Group, Japan's largest manufacturer of household products. Kao was the first cosmetic brand to start researching Ceramido Ceramides, the lipids that exist between skin keratinocytes, and in 1999 created the low-stimulation Curel brand, which effectively guards and replenishes ceramides.
