The Clinton Foundation is a global non-governmental organization established by Bill Clinton at the end of his second term as the 42nd President of the United States to strengthen the ability of people in the United States and around the world to rely on each other in the face of global challenges. The Foundation has seven major initiatives: (1) the Alliance for a Healthier Generation; (2) the Clinton Climate Initiative; (3) the Clinton Economic Opportunity Initiative; (4) the Clinton Giustra Growth Initiative; (5) the Clinton Global Initiative; (6) the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative; and (7) the Clinton Global Initiative. Its focus is primarily in the areas of health security, economic empowerment, leadership development and civic service, and racial, ethnic and religious reconciliation.
